HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Police say three armed robbers are on the run after hitting up a gameroom in southwest Houston. Investigators are now looking into whether or not the business is operated legally.

A woman who allegedly helped rob patrons is in police custody after she was unable to outrun officers.

HPD says they followed a trail of money through a field near Aria Cafe on Bellaire and South Dairy Ashford.

That is when police saw the robbery suspects had crashed their getaway car. Officers ran after them.

The restaurant's owner told police he saw the entire thing go down from home while watching surveillance cameras. He called 911.

"Not only did they rob the store, they robbed the customers. There was also a security officer in there. (The suspects) took his gun. (They)snuck up on him, took his gun and then fled with his pistol. However, they did drop the gun when they were running away so we were able to recover that," said Lt. Larry Crowson with HPD.

Three men who got away were believed to be hiding in a neighboring apartment complex. Police are still looking for them.
