Nine-year-old Harris County boy found safe following Amber Alert

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- An Amber Alert has been canceled for a nine-year-old boy.

Police say Allison Gokey, 37, checked her son out of Krahn Elementary School around noon yesterday. Police then issued an Amber Alert, calling Gokey emotionally unstable.

Gokey and her son were found hours later at the Best Western in Willis on FM 1097. Police detained the mother for one hour, and she told officers she was headed to Ohio.

Police then released the woman. They she has legal custody of the little boy, and say the child was never in any danger.
