ST. LOUIS, MO (KTRK) -- Two men are behind bars after police say they went on a racially-charged spree, throwing eggs at black bus riders.

St. Louis police say David Ragain and Jesse Reed were in a white van on Friday night when they targeted a woman, yelling offensive insults and throwing eggs at her.

Both men are accused of then targeting African-Americans who were waiting at a bus stop, KMOV reports.

Officers found the men by using security cameras and license plate scanners.

The men now face hate crime charges, police say.

The St. Louis Police Department says they hope their arrest will encourage other possible victims to come forward.
