HOUSTON (KTRK) -- An Aldine ISD teacher has been removed from the classroom over an incident with a student involving a water bottle.

The boy's mother, Latoya Jacobs, told Eyewitness News that the teacher called her after the Jan. 19 incident.

"She said that she snapped and that she threw a water bottle," Jacobs said. "But she never mentioned that it hit my child."

According to the district, the teacher is no longer at the Hill Intermediate campus.

"I never want to jeopardize another person's household, but if I was to do something like this on my job, I wouldn't have a job," she added.

Full statement from Aldine ISD:

"Aldine ISD is aware of an incident involving inappropriate behavior by a Hill Intermediate teacher on Jan. 19. The teacher was removed from the campus on Jan. 20 and will not be returning."
