Join abc13 to give stories that change young lives

All of us at abc13 believe great stories take kids to amazing places, grow their imaginations and teach them incredible things to prepare them for bright futures.

Disney and ABC have donated 50 million books to First Book and are celebrating this milestone by inviting you to join the fourth annual "Magic of Storytelling" campaign between now and March 31, including the first annual Disney Reads Day on February 6.

From now through March 31st, the Magic of Storytelling campaign celebrates the power of storytelling and provides brand new books to kids in need in our community.

You too can join in the magic of storytelling and help give stories that change lives. Go to www.FirstBook.org/BeInspired to find Disney Reads Day events near you, or to vote online in the "50-State Challenge" to win a donation of books for kids in need in your state.

Too many children don't have books of their own - at home and at school. That makes it hard for them to read, learn and succeed.

First Book is a nonprofit organization that puts new books into the hands of children from low-income families nationwide.

And you can get involved! Take your own "shelfie" with a favorite book or in front of a bookshelf - and post it to social media. For each shelfie posted to Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #MagicOfStorytelling, Disney will donate a book to an organization in need.
