Man shot in face during attempted carjacking in southwest Houston

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A man is recovering in the hospital after police say he was shot in the face during an attempted carjacking in southwest Houston.

Officers say the man was able to drive away, but he eventually crashed into another vehicle on Regal Oaks Lane.

A witness noticed the driver was shot and immediately called police.

The victim was transported to the hospital in stable condition.
