1 dead after gunfire rings out in SW Houston

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- We're following breaking news in southwest Houston, where police say one person is dead in a shooting.

Houston police are at W. Sam Houston Parkway and Beechnut, where they are trying to piece together what happened.

There are very few details, but investigators said the victim died as EMS was trying to get him or her to the hospital.
