3-alarm apartment fire burning in NW Houston

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- First responders are currently on the scene of a 3-alarm fire in NW Houston.

The blaze is burning at the Green Tree Place Apartments near Clay Road and Highway 6.

The Cy-Fair Volunteer Fire Department says the fire is now under control. No residents were injured, but three firefighters were transported from the scene in stable condition after suffering heat exhaustion.

Officials are asking motorists to avoid the area as firefighters continue to battle the fire. The scene is expected to be active for the next several hours.
