Mattress Mack's Thanksgiving Feast
Can't help with the gifts? Maybe you can volunteer to help Mattress Mack serve Thanksgiving lunch.

Gallery Furniture needs volunteers to fulfill a variety of tasks on Thanksgiving at the North Freeway location. You can register online to make the day even more special for your fellow Houston residents.

Super Feast
City Wide Club is also in need of volunteers for its Annual Thanksgiving Big Super Feast. The volunteer shifts are from 7:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. or 12:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Check out the website to register or find out to volunteer for their Christmas feast.

Salvation Army Thanksgiving Dinner
The Salvation Army and Friends of Conroe need at least 1,500 volunteers to help serve thousands of free holiday meals Thanksgiving Day.

On Thursday, Nov. 23, a large tent will be set up to serve 2,000 to 2,500 meals to community members from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Salvation Army's Wayne Bergstrom Center of Hope, located at 301 Ave. E. While most of the meals will be served on site, some volunteers are needed to pack food in to-go plates and deliver them to places of need.

"This year, with Montgomery County going through Hurricane Harvey, there is a lot of people in Montgomery County that Thanksgiving dinner is simply going to be different for them," Salvation Army Maj. Don Wildish said. "They are having to spend money on replacing dry walls and work on their house they didn't plan to do. It's taking that money away from Thanksgiving dinner and putting it toward their home. We are proud to be serving meals this Thanksgiving, even more so in a great time of need when Montgomery County is being challenged during this time."

Volunteers will be needed to fill two shifts; one from 9 a.m. to noon and the other from noon to 3 p.m.

A pre-volunteer meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, at the center. For more information and to volunteer, call the Salvation Army's main office at 936-760-2440.
