Spring family tricked into buying fake World Series tickets
A Spring family says they were dumped into buying fake World Series tickets.

SPRING, Texas (KTRK) -- Andrea Falcon thought she had an amazing surprise for her Astros super fan family, but her last-minute ticket deal turned out to be a dud.

Falcon said she found four tickets to Friday's game on Craigslist days ago and messaged the seller online multiple times.

"He seemed legit," she said.

But her family watched the game from home because the tickets were not real.

"[The ticket taker] said, 'I'm sorry these are fake. You've been scammed,'" Falcon said.

She said she saw other sales online, but decided to go with a guy on Craigslist who called himself Reggie.

"This person was willing to meet, willing to let me see the tickets, willing to meet at Minute Maid," she said.

Falcon said Reggie claimed his company gave him tickets but he couldn't go. She said she paid $2,000 in cash for the tickets and even tried to get Minute Maid Park employees to verify them.

"They said they can't validate tickets. They can't scan them but [the employee] said, 'These are our stock paper. These look great."

But they were not great. Falcon said her family was turned away.

"It was very devastating to have my dad there, my son, all of us waiting to get in," she said.

Falcon said she contacted police and investigators have already contacted her. She hopes the person at fault is caught.
