Jodie Stavinoha Bridge slated for month-long closure

SUGAR LAND, Texas (KTRK) -- A major closure of the Grand Parkway in Fort Bend County is now underway.

The southbound side of the Jodie Stavinoha Bridge will be blocked off for nearly a month through Dec. 22.

Crews need to stabilize the northern bank of the Brazos River and try to prevent damage to the Grand Parkway bridge after all of the flooding from Harvey.

All southbound traffic on Grand Parkway/SH-99 will exit FM-1464/US-90A, turn left and head east to US-90A. Then, traffic will turn right on Highway 6 heading south. From there, traffic will be able to access the Southwest Freeway.
