Dog found in Michigan reunited with owners in SE Houston
A dog found nearly 1,200 miles away is now safe at home with his owners.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A missing Houston dog found thousands of miles away is now safe at home with his owners.

Brandon and Courtney from Midland, Michigan, pulled up to the White residence on Friday with Oreo, a playful black and white Shitzu who hadn't seen his owners since June.

Oreo's owners thought he was gone forever after he disappeared over the summer, but he was found almost 1,200 miles away. After he was dropped off at the local humane society, microchipping technology helped trace him back to Houston.

Courtney saw Oreo's story on television in Michigan and wanted to help. She and her husband, a pilot for United, flew in to reunite Oreo with his family.

"It's simple. We have a daughter, she's 14 months old. I want her to know that she should do kind things for others because what kind of world would this be if we didn't help each other out?" Courtney told ABC13.

"God is awesome. He's awesome for doing that cause I didn't know who had him or where he would go," Linda White, Oreo's owner, said.
