Jewish community holds party for kids coping with Harvey
Houston's Jewish community held a party to help local children coping with the aftermath of Harvey.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Houston's Jewish community held a party and unity rally on Sunday to help children who are struggling to cope with trauma or anxiety caused by Hurricane Harvey.

The Chabad Harvey Relief Organization and other groups put on the event at United Orthodox Synagogues near Meyerland. Guests were able to enjoy free rides, jugglers, balloon magic and pizza.

Event organizers say children may feel ignored as their families deal with major problems like replacing flood-damaged cars or repairing their homes.

Rabbi Moishe Traxler said organizers chose the Meyerland location to be close to children and families who experienced severe flooding.
