WHITE BEAR LAKE, Minnesota (KTRK) -- A 60-year-old man has been charged after police say he was found living with the decomposing bodies of his mother and twin brother for about a year.
Robert Kuefler told the Associated Press he was traumatized by their deaths, and couldn't bring himself to report what happened to police.
The medical examiner says his 94-year-old mother and 60-year-old brother died of natural causes.
White Bear Lake Police Captain Dale Hager said Kuefler was charged with interference with a dead body or scene of death.
Evelyn Kuefler died in August 2015 and his brother Richard Kuefler died months earlier. Their bodies were discovered in September 2016.
Court records said his mother's body was decayed and skeletal, while Richard Kuefler's body was "mummified."
