'Blessing of the Animals' recognizes spiritual attachment to pets

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Cats, dogs and even rabbits went to church Sunday for a special blessing.

Saint Francis Episcopal Church in west Houston held its Annual Blessing of the Animals to honor the Feast of Saint Francis.

Saint Francis is the patron saint of animals.

The church says Saint Francis must have been looking down on them because all the animals managed to behave themselves while they were inside for the service.
