HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Chama Gaucha, a favorite Brazilian steakhouse among Houston meat-lovers, has a new look and a new menu.

Located at Westheimer and Fountain View, the authentic eatery has a new unlimited tableside gaucho experience where chefs slice a variety of succulent, flame-roasted skewers of meat -- right before your eyes.

Since opening in 2011, the Chama Gaucha team has made several interior changes, most recently adding a covered outdoor dining patio with comfortable seating.

"As part of their heritage, the gauchos or Brazilian Cowboys, would gather around the churrasco, a fire pit or grill, after tending cattle all day to eat and share their stories," said partner Giocondo Angeli. "At Chama, we added circular fire pits on the outdoor patio so guests can sit and have that same gathering and sharing experience.

The restaurant's warm and inviting modern atmosphere, reminiscent of the beautiful Pampas in Southern Brazil, showcases luxurious materials such as a granite and limestone bar, rich walnut wine racks and fabrics in tones of deep red and mocha. The fine-dining area surroundings also include an upscale bar area, a semi-private dining area and three private rooms.

"Our goal is transport our guests to Brazil and give them a give them an authentic experience, without taking a 10 hour flight," said Manager Guilherme de Silva.
