Dating app robberies
Omaha Police Department is warning people about a dating app robbery spree.

OMAHA, Nebraska (KTRK) -- The Omaha Police Department is warning people about the risk of using dating apps.

The department says that the chances of you getting robbed may be higher if you're using dating apps.

According to police, at least six people have been robbed at gunpoint after using dating apps to meet people.

The victims are all men who used the Tinder or Plenty of Fish dating app, according to officers.

The men usually agree to meet up with women at a specified location, but upon arrival someone else will show up and rob them.

Police suggest arranging first time meetings in a public place or bringing along a friend.
