Officer takes first steps after being shot by burglary suspects
Incredible new video shows Houston Police officer Ronny Cortez taking his first steps in seven months.

HOUSTON -- Some good news tonight in the recovery of a Houston police officer shot in the line of duty.

The wife of Houston Police officer Ronny Cortez released this video of her husband taking his first steps since being shot by two burglary suspects.

Seven months ago, Cortez and his fellow officer Jose Munoz were both shot while pursuing the suspects in southwest Houston.

The officers fired back, killing one of the suspects.

Officer Cortez is paralyzed from the chest down, while Officer Munoz suffered an injury to the leg. He is okay.

As you can imagine, the video has been spread widely on social media.

Sending all our best tonight to Officer Ronny Cortez.
