Woman accused of shooting boyfriend in neck in SE Houston

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A verbal squabble between a girlfriend and a boyfriend ended up with the woman allegedly shooting her lover in the neck late Monday night.

According to Houston police, the incident happened in the parking lot of an apartment complex on Royal Palms near Griggs at around 11 p.m.

Police said the woman apparently took a pistol out of her purse and opened fire at her boyfriend during an argument.

The boyfriend was taken to a hospital for treatment. Houston police said they are not sure if the victim will survive his wound.

The woman was taken into custody. Her charges remained pending following the shooting.
