Texadelphia returns to Houston

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A beloved Houston favorite will make its return next month. Texadelphia, the sandwich shop that brings Texan flavors to the Philly classic, will open its new Houston location on October 2, the restaurant announced on Facebook.

Yes, it's true. Houstonians will soon be able to enjoy Texadelphia classics like The Texican (grilled onions, mozzarella, jalapenos, side of queso) and the signature mustard blend. Best of all for fans of the original location, which closed in 2015 after 20 years and is now home to Beaver's Westheimer, the new spot is only a little farther down the street at Dunvale.

Franchisee Branch Sheppard told the Chronicle back in August that diners can expect some changes, including more salads, but that he and his wife Haley want to resurrect the "Austin-type feel" that was always part of the original location's appeal.
