HPD officer taken to hospital after crashing into house
An HPD officer was taken to the hospital after crashing into a house.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A Houston police officer was taken to the hospital as a precaution after he lost control of his cruiser and ran into a fence.

The accident happened just before 3:30 Sunday afternoon in the 3000 block of North Main.

According to John Cannon with HPD, the officer was en route to assist with another call for service when he lost control of and hit the fence.

He was taken to Memorial Hermann but did not sustain any serious injuries, according to Cannon.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
