If you were impacted by Hurricane Harvey in Richmond or simply want to help, here are eight organizations that are working to help resident locally:

City of Richmond

Residents may seek assistance on securing building permits or can access FEMA packet information at the city's designated information center.

Friends of North Richmond/Attack Poverty
Attack Poverty's flood recovery repair program will help residents with repairs to their damaged homes. People can sign up to volunteer online and residents can request a case manager online or by calling the Fort Bend Recovers Hotline at 281-207-2555.

Blockhouse Coffee & Kitchen
This cafe is accepting donations for school and cleanup supplies, food, and baby items (diapers, formula, wipes, and tooth paste). Blockhouse does not accept clothes.

Fort Bend Women's Shelter / Pennywise Retail Stores
The shelter's retail store is accepting donations of non-perishable food, baby supplies, toiletries and cleaning supplies.

Gallery Furniture
Gallery Furniture is accepting brand new cleaning supplies only for donations at its Grand Parkway and Houston locations. Items in high demand include Clorox products, shovels, Pinesol products, sponges, mops, brooms, gloves, trash bags, fans, soap, face masks, knives for cutting carpet, humidifiers and buckets.

The state has set up an informational website to help with insurance questions and provide recovery resources.

National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster
The national charity is looking for cash donations. People can apply to volunteer on its website.

American Red Cross
The American Red Cross is accepting monetary donations and supplies along with volunteer applications for various locations throughout the state.
