Daedly East Ex crash
Driver killed when pickup hit by tractor-trailer.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A deadly crash forced all inbound lanes of the Eastex Freeway at Greens Road to shut down early Thursday morning.

The incident involved a semi-truck and a Ford pickup.

Deputies say the Ford was stopped in the middle lane of the southbound freeway for an unknown reason. The pickup's emergency flashers were on.

Investigators say the 18-wheeler slammed into the stopped truck, killing the male driver on impact. The tractor-trailer driver was not hurt.

The crash happened just after 1 a.m. The freeway is now open.
