Galveston Island open for business
Galveston Island is open for business.

GALVESTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Nearly two weeks after Hurricane Harvey hit, Galveston Island is back in business.

Tourism officials say all of the island's beaches and major attractions have reopened. Only one attraction, the Galveston Railroad Museum, sustained severe flood damage during the storm. It was closed for the last week for repairs but has since also resumed business.

According to a survey conducted by Galveston's Downtown Partnership, only 2 percent of businesses in the historic downtown district are still closed.

Galveston beaches are open and following their normal post-Labor Day schedule. Parking fees have been waived along the seawall and in downtown through Sept. 14.
