THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- The show will go on at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion on Thursday night, Sept. 7, as the Goo Goo Dolls will perform as scheduled on the Houston-area stop of their multi-city Long Way Home Summer Tour.

It will be the first concert at outdoor arena in The Woodlands since Hurricane Harvey struck the Houston area.

The Grammy-nominated rock band had considered canceling the concert. But "after reflecting upon the tragic devastation brought on by Hurricane Harvey and Mayor Turner's recent comments that Houston is indeed open for business we have decided to move forward with our show at The Woodlands. We want to do our part to not only gather donations but to also hopefully give people an evening of much needed enjoyment," the band said in a statement.
