Astros' Carlos Correa teams up with charity to ensure children receive bed

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Houston Astros star Carlos Correa is teaming up with a local charity to assist children in need of a bed.

Correa, in conjunction with Houston Children's Charity, is working to ensure any child in need of a bed will receive a mattress, frame and new linens.

"My heart goes out to the city of Houston and those affected by Hurricane Harvey," Correa said.

In a video message, Correa noted that 100 percent of donations will go to purchase of beds.

The goal is $500,000 to put 5,000 children back in a bed. To donate, visit Houston Children's Charity website.
