Police: 1-year-old drowned in bathtub inside east Houston home

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A 1-year-old has died in an apparent accidental drowning in east Houston.

According to Houston police, the mom of the child was bathing three children at a home on Avenue L. She took them out of the bathtub, but somehow the 1-year-old got back inside the tub before the water fully drained.

Investigators said the mother returned and found the child.

Police are investigating the drowning.
