Man shot 5 times survives in southwest Houston

Police said a man was shot five times at a southwest Houston apartment complex overnight and survived his wounds.

The man was found bleeding outside of his apartment on Charleston Park Drive just off Main Street at around 1 a.m.

The shooting victim, who police identified as 23-year-old Dustin Bradford, was sent to the hospital where he underwent surgery for non-life threatening injuries.

Residents in the area recalled hearing fighting and then at least three gunshots. Citing witnesses, police said Bradford's estranged girlfriend and two others came to his apartment and assaulted and shot him.

The suspects were gone when officers arrived.

Police urged anyone with information on the case to contact the Major Assaults Unit at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS (8477).
