Police search for shooter who killed 16-year-old boy

A shootout on Lorne Street in northeast Harris County ended with a teen boy dead, according to investigators.

The victim, who has only been identified as a 16-year-old boy, died at the hospital.

Police arrived to find shell casings scattered in the street, which they say indicated back and forth gunfire.

Investigators worked to collect evidence before the rain could wash it away Sunday afternoon.

Law enforcement is on the search for the shooter.
