Men shoot father in Spring Branch home

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A father is shot, with his son at home in Spring Branch.

Homicide detectives responded to the home on Housman around 2:30 Sunday morning.

A man went to his parent's house to pick up his 3-year-old son, according to authorities.

Police say while the man was at his parent's home, someone was at the door. The man opened the door and let two other men into the home. An argument began and the two men shot the father in the head.

After that, the victim's father started fighting with the armed suspects. The suspects took off.

His parents and his three-year-old son were not hurt, but police say the child recognized the shooters.

The man was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Officers are talking to the victim's father hoping to get a better suspect description.
