SYCAMORE TOWNSHIP, OH (KTRK) -- Law enforcement in Ohio say two thieves broke into a jewelry store in Ohio and stole 26 diamond rings worth $86,000. And they might have gotten away with it, except for one problem: during their escape, they got trapped in the store's elevator.
Deputies say while searching the premises, they heard noises coming from the elevator.
The fire department was called in to open the elevator.
The pair was arrested and charged.
Deputies say they found the diamonds in the ceiling of the elevator.
