2-alarm fire destroys southeast Houston apartment building

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- The Red Cross is helping families left homeless after a two-alarm fire destroyed a southeast Houston apartment building.

Firefighters were called out to the Park Houston apartments on MLK near East Orem around 4:15am. They arrived to find flames shooting through the roof of one building.

The fire was put out about an hour.

Arson is still investigating the cause of the fire.
