The search continues for the suspect accused of stealing a car with a baby inside.

Deputies say a baby was found after being taken for a ride in a stolen car in east Harris County.

Police responded to calls earlier this morning about a reported car theft on Pennygent Lane.

The mother left her baby in the car when she ran into the house to get something. She came back and found her car and baby were missing.

Surveillance video shows a woman finding a baby who was taken in a stolen car


Surveillance video obtained by ABC13 shows a woman in a Tahoe, who happened to be driving by, picking up the baby at the end of a dead-end street.

The woman gets out of the Tahoe with a blanket and picks the baby up from the curb. She stayed with the girl until deputies arrived.

Meanwhile, several residents on Pennygent Lane said their cars were broken into.

"I feel a little violated and disrespected," resident Jerome Robinson said.

Robinson said his cellphone and computer were stolen out of his Kia.

"I believe it is connected since it happened on the same street," Robinson said.

Richard Martinez said someone was in his mother's van.

"The doors were open. The papers were all over the floor. They dug in there trying to look for something," Martinez said.

At least five families on the street are dealing with car break ins.

Investigators will not say if one person is responsible for the crimes.
