Medical student throws herself a 'graduwedding' to celebrate her residency match.

GALVESTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A new doctor from The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston is celebrating the completion of nine years of medical school with a special event. She's calling it her 'graduwedding.'

Angie Hamouie created an elaborate event page on theknot.com, a website typically used for wedding and engagement information.

Her page is complete with photos of her and the letter announcing her residency match. She says the event will celebrate the union of two souls: her and her medical degree.

The party is being held next month in Houston. It will feature all the traditional wedding elements including a white dress, speeches, dinner and even a cake.

For her residency, Angie was matched with Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. where she plans to specialize in obstetrics and gynecology.
