One person killed when pickup truck and car collide

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Police say one person was killed and four others injured when a car and a pickup truck collided.

It happened at Little York and the Hardy Toll Road in northeast Houston just after 2 a.m.

Investigators said the car was traveling northbound on the Hardy Toll Road service road and attempted to turn east onto Little York. The car was hit by the truck that was traveling eastbound.

Four people were in the truck at the time of the accident. One person was killed and three others were taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

The driver of the car was also taken to the hospital.

Investigators say the truck may have run a red light and that alcohol may have been involved but they are continuing to investigate at this time.
