SAN FRANCISCO, California -- Thousands are gathering in Golden Gate Park to light up in honor of 4/20. Officials say this year's festivities will be more controlled and less chaotic.

BACK TO THE BEGINNING: How April 20 became a pot day

At 4:20 p.m. today pot smokers will celebrate this unofficial holiday.
