A 15-year-old Tennessee girl was rescued near a cabin in a remote part of northern California on Thursday, more than a month after her 50-year-old teacher kidnapped her and set off a nationwide manhunt, authorities said.

January 23 - Schoolmate reports seeing Tad Cummins, a 50-year-old married former high school teacher, kissing 15-year-old Elizabeth Thomas in his classroom at Culleoka Unit School

January 30 - Report by the school noted the kiss 'could not be confirmed'

February 3 - Principal reprimands Cummins after Elizabeth was in his classroom, violating principal's order

February 6 - School district suspends Cummins without pay pending an investigation

March 13 - Elizabeth doesn't return home from school and was seen at a restaurant in Columbia, Tennessee where she was dropped off by a friend
March 14 - Cummins was fired from Culleoka Unit School

March 14 - Wife and daughters of teacher ask him to come home in exclusive interview with ABC News

March 15 - Tennessee Bureau of Investigation issues Amber Alert for Elizabeth

March 17 - Cummins is added to the state's most wanted list
March 20 - TBI issued the last known photo of Elizabeth, as well as surveillance footage showing Cummins purchasing hair dye

April 20 - Elizabeth was rescued from a remote part of northern California and Cummins surrendered to sheriff's deputies without incident. He faces state charges of aggravated kidnapping and sexual contact with a minor as well as a federal charge of taking a minor across state lines to have sex.
