Man arrested for stockpiling guns and ammo for zombie apocalypse
A man arrested for keeping an illegal cache of weapons and ammunition told family members he was preparing for the "zombie apocalypse."

SPOKANE, Washington (KTRK) -- A convicted felon is back in jail after police seized a stockpile of illegal weapons and ammunition from his home in Spokane, Washington, for what he said was for a zombie apocalypse.

Robert Crampton, 62, served time after he shot at police in Las Vegas in 2013. He was not allowed to own any ammunition.

On Thursday, police arrested Crampton after a anonymous tip last month about weapons and ammunition that he owned.

A family member told investigators that Crampton had been talking about preparing for the end of the world and said he needed to stock up on guns, food and water for a zombie apocalypse.

A judge has set Crampton's bond at $100,000.
