Girl, 12, claims man flashed her after she got off the bus.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A mother is doing everything she can to warn others about a man who allegedly exposed himself to her daughter near a school.

Houston police responded to a report of public lewdness Wednesday afternoon. The 12-year-old girl said she was walking on the sidewalk on Irvington near Tidwell when a man in a silver Honda pulled up next to her.

According to police, the passenger side window was open and he was exposed from the waist down and touching himself.

The incident happened across the street from HISD's Sam Houston Math, Science and Technology Center. After the girl screamed and called 911, the man sped off.

"It's not right for a grown (expletive) man to do that to a child. It's not right," Vanessa Flores, the girl's mother, told Eyewitness News.

Flores and her daughter circled the neighborhood, and think they spotted him trying to do it again. When they got close, he was scared off.

Flores said police told her they had similar reports. She notified all the schools in the area and contacted ABC13 to get the word out.

"He needs to be stopped. We don't know what's going to happen next," said Flores.

Houston police said the man is described only as Hispanic and driving a silver Honda Accord. Officers searched the area but were unable to find anything.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police.
