Woman and baby rescued from flooding in San Marcos
Cellphone video captured crews rescuing a mother and her baby from a vehicle stranded in floodwaters.

SAN MARCOS, Texas (KTRK) -- A woman and her child were rescued from a vehicle stranded in floodwaters in San Marcos on Tuesday.

The National Weather Service reported nearly seven inches of rain fell in San Marcos, breaking the rainfall record.

This driver found himself in a dangerous situation. Fortunately, Steve Campion was nearby.

Severe weather was not just isolated to the San Marcos-Austin area. At least 32 water rescues were reported in Killeen, and one person is missing in Fort Hood after a vehicle was swept off the road.
