HOUSTON (KTRK) --Janet Carr and Stuart Glasscock became friends when they met on the side of the North Freeway during the morning rush hour in February when both drivers fell victim to a massive pothole.
"They all call it a pothole, I call it a cavern, because I ran into it," said Glasscock.
Each one of them paid mightily to have their cars fixed. Carr said her repairs were more than $2,000.
Both told ABC13 that they are upset over a letter they each received denying them any compensation.
"I want to know why there's no accountability and I'm out a lot of money," said Glasscock.

They first reached out to TxDOT, which referred them to Broadspectrum.
The denial letter from Broadspectrum says the company is responsible for road maintenance, but isn't liable for their repairs, saying in part, "We patrol the road but cannot find all roadway hazards at all times. It was determined that the incident that you complained about was not known to Broadspectrum at the time of your encounter."
Carr said the answer from Broadspectrum is not right.
"They need to compensate us. They need to have a heart," she said.
Glasscock agreed and is now nervous about unseen dangers on the roads.
"I have no trust that there is good monitoring or good maintenance," he added.
ABC13 reached out to Broadspectrum for more details about the maintenance process, but our calls were unanswered.
