LEAGUE CITY, Texas (KTRK) --A memorial is growing for a League City third grader who was killed in a car crash.
Eight-year-old Kelsey Nalepa was taken off life support on Saturday.
Two days before that, she was on her way to a softball game, buckled up in the backseat while her parents drove.
The family car was stopped on West Main Street when another vehicle hit them from behind, police said.
Her parents weren't injured, but she was taken to the hospital by helicopter.
"I'm going to miss that she's really smart and she's really courageous," said her friend, 9-year-old Kira Nillsson.
