Segment 1 - A discussion about the growing human trafficking problem. Experts say it is reaching epidemic proportions in the Houston area. We find out why from JoAnne Musick, Chief of the Harris County District Attorney's Office's newly created Sex Crimes Unit and Dr. Rebecca Pfeffer, a University of Houston-Downtown assistant professor of Criminal Justice. Dr. Pfeffer has done extensive research on human trafficking and has shared her findings with the Houston Police Department and other anti-trafficking organizations. Musick's office recently charged a Houston man under a tough new anti-trafficking law that could land him prison for the rest of his life.
