Violent north Houston home invasion suspects caught on camera
Suspects in a violent north Houston home invasion were caught on surveillance camera.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Several suspects in a home invasion that ended with a victim shot in the neck were caught on high definition home surveillance footage.

According to police, the men shot the homeowner multiple times while he was in the backyard at his residence on Truxton Street in north Houston on Wednesday morning.

Investigators believe the suspects stole a purse but were potentially looking for more from the victim, who owns a small construction business and had just arrived home from running errands.

"My assumption would be that maybe he had payroll on him," HPD robbery division Detective Outlaw said.

Not far from the home, police discovered a pickup truck that may be the one shown in the surveillance video. The truck was reported stolen in Harris County.

The homeowner who suffered the gunshot wound is expected to survive.

Anybody with information about the crime is asked to call Houston police.
