High school teen struck on South Beltway feeder at Fondren Road

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A teenager from Sharpstown High School was struck by a car in southwest Houston Monday morning.

The victim has been identified as a 16-year-old student.

Investigators said that a black Honda approached the intersection and struck the male, who failed to yield at the 8000 block of the South Beltway westbound at Fondren Road.

The teen was taken to Ben Taub Hospital in critical condition.

Police are questioning the driver and the accident remains under investigation.
