Houston officer involved in wreck on Westpark near Beltway 8

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A Houston police officer was involved in a wreck on Westpark Drive near Beltway 8.

The crash happened just east of Dairy Ashford near the Beltway around 6 a.m.

It appears the officer struck the back driver-side panel of a car, and there was heavy damage to the front driver-side corner of the HPD cruiser.

EMS was working on the occupant of the passenger car inside an ambulance at the scene, but HPD said that person's injuries were minor.

The officer was not injured.
