LAKE JACKSON, Texas (KTRK) -- Two 21-year-old men have been arrested in the murder of a La Marque man who went missing earlier this week.

La Marque family believes the body found near the Brazos River is their son.

The body of Roy Ornelas, 22, was discovered Tuesday in a remote area near the Brazos River in Brazoria County.

Overnight, investigators said Joseph John Farek and Allen Ray Taylor II were charged in his murder.

Lake Jackson police did not tell Eyewitness News how or where either of the suspects were found. No bond has been set for Farek or Taylor.

Police Chief Rick Park said their investigation continues and that there is still a "sizeable amount of investigative materials" to document in this case.

As a result, it may take some time before we learn new details in Ornelas' murder, including how he was killed.

We spoke with the victim's family earlier this week, and they told us they want closure.

Roy Ornelas went missing Sunday evening, along with as many as seven guns he kept inside the home he shared with his longtime girlfriend.

His mother, Rachel Ornelas, said she had no idea he owned these guns, but believed her son and a friend were supposed to go shooting Sunday.

Roy Ornelas would have turned 23 on Monday. He was the youngest of seven children, and described by his mom as both "compassionate and loving."
