Houston man charged with attempted murder of police officer

WESTLAKE, Louisiana (KTRK) -- A local man has been charged with attempted murder of a police officer after an altercation at a Louisiana casino.

According to police, 53-year-old Reginald Kinsey was harassing customers at the casino on Monday. An officer responded to the complaint, and Kinsey allegedly charged toward the officer with a knife.

The officer shot Kinsey in the legs. He spent two days in the hospital before being booked into jail.

Kinsey also has an arrest warrant for aggravated assault in Texas, authorities said.
