HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) --After several hours of negotiation, authorities found the suspect in a SWAT standoff at a north Harris County home dead.
Harris County Sheriff's Office deputies were called to a home on the 19000 block of Toast Hollow Court around 10 a.m. after a woman became worried about her husband.
When authorities arrived on the scene, the woman and her 17-month-old baby were outside of the home, and the front door was ajar.

As deputies attempted to enter the home, they encountered gunfire coming through the ceiling from the second floor. Officers retreated from the home and exchanged further gunfire with the suspect.
Trained hostage negotiators spoke with the man for several hours before sending a robot into the home.
The robot spotted the man lying on the floor. When deputies entered the home for a second time, they found the man dead with an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound. A weapon was found nearby.
Authorities continue to investigate to determine exactly when and how the man died.
The suspect has only been identified as a 29-year-old white or Hispanic male.
As the situation unfolded throughout the afternoon, the entire cul-de-sac was evacuated to ensure neighbors' safety.
