MAGNOLIA, Texas (KTRK) --A Magnolia family is pleading for information in the search for the hit-and-run driver who killed a father, husband and Army veteran.
Terry "T.K." Ponder, 53, died last Thursday. He was on his motorcycle on his way home from work when a pickup truck pulled out in front of him at Vallie Road and Highway 249 near Tomball. Ponder, who was wearing his helmet, could not avoid the collision. He died at the hospital.
"I'm mad and I'm shocked. It doesn't seem real," his wife, Jeanine Ponder, told Eyewitness News.
For those left behind, what is harder is that the driver took off.
"He or she needs to be held accountable. It's not okay. You should have stopped and helped," said Ponder.
Montgomery County Sheriff's Office investigators released photos from a nearby surveillance camera of the hit and driver's truck. It's a white Ford extended-cab pickup truck. It would have damage to the left quarter panel.
Ponder was a master plumber who served in the Army and loved riding his motorcycle. He and his wife had known each other since junior high school and re-connected on social media. They were two weeks shy of their third wedding anniversary.
"She lit up his world like no other," Taylor Ponder, the victim's daughter said. "I never saw him so happy."
Now the two people closest to him, his wife and daughter, lean on each other with plea for help in finding the person who caused so much hurt.
"I just want justice for my dad," Taylor Ponder said.
